Sister Circles are sacred spaces created by Clean Beauty for Black Girls. It’s where Black women and girls gather to tell the truth, challenge harmful beauty standards, and reclaim what beauty means to us.
This is where we unlearn the lies, learn from the science, and remember who we are. Together.
What is a Sister Circle?
A Sister Circle is a guided, community-rooted gathering where we:
UNPACK what we’ve been taught to believe about beauty
RECLAIM what we know to be true
REBUILD a vision for beauty that protects us, reflects us, and is defined by us
Every Circle uses real stories, shared science, and honest dialogue to shift what beauty means to us and for us.
What is beauty?
What does it mean to be Black and beautiful?
What makes Black beautiful—in our eyes, our stories, and our science?
Who taught you what beauty was, and who benefited from that?
We start with the truth and build from there.
What to Expect
Each Sister Circle includes:
1. UNPACK
Guided questions and truth-telling
The real facts: harmful ingredients, targeted marketing to Black women
2. RECLAIM
Collective naming of what makes Black beautiful
Safer brands and community-centered resources
3. REBUILD
Group affirmations, beauty rituals, and small shifts
Personal commitments to shop, speak, or show up differently
Follow-up tools and continued connection
These are not lectures.
They’re shared experiences designed to heal, educate, and empower.
For Hosts & Sponsors
Hosting or sponsoring a Circle helps expand this work, deepen community ties, and invest in Black women’s wellness directly.
Local beauty and wellness businesses can co-host or donate goods
Educators and practitioners can guide Circles with provided prompts and support
Sponsors and partners help make Circles possible in new neighborhoods and networks
You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to care enough about Black women.
Black women have been systematically exposed to toxic ingredients, marketed unsafe products, and excluded from the conversations that impact our health.
Sister Circles change that.
We break the silence about what’s been marketed to us
We talk about the risks we were never warned about
We learn from the science and from each other
This is beauty justice. And it starts with us.
